#226: Seth Godin—How to Become More Creative - Even if You Think You Aren’t
Play • 27 min

Most people think there are those who are “just born” creative, and those who just aren’t. Seth Godin would disagree. He believes that creativity, like riding a bike, is a skill everyone can learn and develop over time. It’s an important skill, too, and if we don’t develop practices that keep us creative, we could get left behind. In today’s episode, Seth gives us insight into how we can become more creative with our work. Whether you’re a graphic designer, and architect, a CEO or a receptionist, these practices will help you grow and become a more valuable professional.

How To Simplify Your Membership (So You Can Work Less + Make More)!
On today's show we are helping Rabbi Ariel Sholklapper and his wife Sarah - they have created a membership all about Jewish mindfulness! Ariel has been crushing it in the Flipped Lifestyle Community for a while! He has launched, he has some members, but today we are helping him move the things out of his way that are holding him back!     Show Notes Ariel has been teaching ancient wisdom and Jewish mindfulness for several years now as a passion (rabbiariel.com). His wife works for a big congregation in Houston, Texas. They want to take what they are doing offline and bring it online to get themselves and their message in front of the world.   How can you serve people? (16:00) The Sholklappers are using their beliefs to teach techniques that people from any religion can use as tools in their own spiritual journeys - whatever their religion may be. This is how they are serving people!   What’s holding you back? (19:00) Trying to stretch yourself too thin makes it hard to find the time and energy for your online business. Let alone - they have a toddler! It’s also hard for Ariel to move ahead of his wife when she is busy with her own schedule and life. There are mindset issues that are internal. You can set aside time and energy to talk about things together! Be disciplined. Set an expectation. Realize you are competent enough to do the things! Batch block time together.   Where are you stuck? (29:00) The Sholklappers need help making people realize the value of their blueprint. Here’s a couple problems I’m hearing: Right now is sounds like they are adding too much complexity. They are not confident in their pricing. They need to niche down their avatar. They need to make it simpler. This will take pressure off and allow them to carry one bucket!   What are you next steps? (45:00) Here’s what the Sholklappers need to do next: Continue working towards niching down that avatar. Get up every day and try to sell monthly members for a while. Use annual sales for promotions. Matthew McConaughey – an Interview on His New Book, “Greenlights” #261
“Somewhere down the line in life, in the rearview mirror, all yellows and reds I believe do eventually turn green - or at least reveal a greenlight asset in our life.” – Matthew McConaughey Often, the setbacks that stop us or slow us down in life actually help us to ultimately succeed. He also describes how, by learning to effectively deal with life’s challenges, you can always keep moving forward and enjoy a state of success he calls “catching greenlights.” READ FULL EPISODE TRANSCRIPT YOU WILL LEARN: * How “The Greatest Salesman in the World” powerfully impacted him. * How his father’s death refocused his priorities. * Why he “unbranded” himself to move away from rom-coms to more dramatic roles. But is it the right kind of hard work?” – Matthew McConaughey “When you go and you endure something and you're kind of taking a penance, with each day you kind of build a little bit more honor and strength.” – Matthew McConaughey “I've never had any trouble turning the page in the book of my life.” – Coach Darrell Royal “We are the author of our own book.” – Matthew McConaughey “The way to find the greenlights is by persistence, or pivot or … sometimes knowing when to wave the white flag.” – Matthew McConaughey
