Penny Wong - ALP Senator, Feminist Icon
Penny was the first woman to become Leader of the Government in the Senate, the first woman Leader of the Opposition in the Senate and the first openly gay Australian female politician. It has been quite the journey, so buckle up as Jussy shares her incredible story with us this week. The two speeches we refer to in the pod can be found here: https://youtu.be/CJAqTGLocLw https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/video/2017/aug/09/penny-wongs-emotional-speech-same-sex-marriage-plebiscite-exposing-our-children-to-hatred-video?CMP=share_btn_tw On top of fangirling Penny we also threw a lot of love to @shelby.sherritt.art ~ the Australian small batch pottery queen with a YouTube series dedicated to unveiling the mystery pottery moulds she found on gumtree. It’s a random recommendation but one that Jussy has binged whilst in lockdown. Chole is currently vibing ‘Killing Eve’ ~ another British T.V recommendation starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer. With an 8.2/10 on IMDB it sounds like Chole is onto something! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Jussy’s recommendation for the week was the Friends Reunion Special on Binge. Chole recommended a podcast called Pseudocide – all about people who faked their own deaths!
