Episode 3: Ministering the Spirit (Connect 2016 Session)
Mike Pilavachi is the Senior Pastor of the Soul Survivor Watford church, based in North Watford, which he set up in 1993 along with worship leader Matt Redman. Mike has written a number of books on Christianity including Soul Survivor (with Nicky Gumbel, 2004), Live the Life (with Craig Borlaise, 2001) and, most recently, Storylines;Tracing the Threads of the Bible. Mike launched Soul Survivor in the summer of 1993.The event is a 5-day long charismatic Christian festival aimed at youth and the initial Soul Survivor attracted 1,896 delegates. Under the guidance of Pilavachi, the event has grown to accommodate around 30,000 people over three weeks along with the fourth week, being Momentum (aimed at those in their twenties and thirties). Matt Redman, who had attended Pilavachi's youth club at St Andrews Church of England Chorleywood, was a worship leader at early Soul Survivor camps. Matt Redman returned as a worship leader in 2011. Episode 1: Starting out in Youth Work
Tim And Dustin sit down with Laura Hancock to talk Starting out In Youth Work!!! Laura has a degree in Performing Arts and Theology, she worked for two years as a youth pastor in London and then for 3 ½ years as an outreach worker and worked alongside vulnerable young people. She now heads up the 11-18’s Church Resources team at YFC (Youth For Christ) and volunteers weekly with the young people in her church Zion Christian Centre where her husband is the youth pastor. Laura shares from her own experience of starting in Youth Work and gives great insight into what questions Youth Workers should be asking themselves when starting. Great Episode!!! ENJOY!!!

Tim Alford lives in Malvern with his wife Jen and his son Tobijah. He is the National Director of Serious4God, the youth movement of Elim Pentecostal Churches in the UK and Ireland. He is a passionate communicator of the gospel, having spoken at churches, conferences, schools and events all over the world. Tim is the former frontman of [dweeb], a frustrated supporter of Arsenal, and has on more than one occasion been to the cinema in Star Wars fancy dress. Enjoy!!!
