Welcome to the blockchain pro podcast, I'm Adriana Belotti and today I'm chatting to Harry Papacharissiou about blockchain development, taking the time to switch gears and creating cool prototypes for hackathons.

Harry is a Developer Advocate and Software Engineer for Chainlink Labs, the leading provider of secure and reliable open-source blockchain oracle solutions.

After writing his first Ethereum smart contract back in 2018, Harry fell down the blockchain rabbit hole and started to focus on the blockchain and web3 space, transitioning away from his enterprise consulting background specialising in systems integration and solution architecture. Before joining Chainlink Labs in 2020, Harry spent much of his spare time increasing his knowledge of blockchain by attending events, contributing to discussions, entering hackathons, and advocating for blockchain technology.

Harry’s most notable achievements include a first place finish in the 2020 Chainlink Virtual Hackathon with his project submission Link My Ride, a peer-to-peer vehicle rental platform. Specifically, Link My Ride uses blockchain and oracle technology to enable the world's first integration of a vehicle connected to a smart contract without requiring specialised hardware. Link My Ride took first place amongst 78 other projects submitted by over 300 participants.

In his role at Chainlink Labs, Harry helps numerous smart contract developers successfully utilise Chainlink’s extensive suite of decentralised services.

Harry truly believes in the immense possibilities that blockchain and web3 technologies offer, including how they provide a substantial opportunity to drastically change our daily lives and help the world’s emerging markets enter into a new age of economic fairness, transparency and efficiency.
