Have you ever rewarded yourself with food?
Maybe you worked hard on a project at work or school and got some cupcakes on the way home.
Maybe you got through a difficult time with a partner, family or friends, and said, "I deserve some cookies after dealing with that!"
Using food as a reward can be a slippery slope because it reinforces an unhealthy relationship with food which can lead to self-sabotaging the healthy lifestyle we are attempting to create or maintain.
