Period Power
45 min

Why are my periods irregular, why are they heavy, why do I get cramps, should I be on the pill and how will that impact my health, why do I feel low around the time of my period, why do I break out or get bloated? These are just a few of the common question we have about our periods, a topic that we can shy away from and that can often have quite a lot of stigma and embarrassment surrounding it, yet there is so much we can learn about our bodies, our health and our mental wellbeing from understanding our cycle, the fluctuations of our hormones and how we feel across the month. The episode, with women’s health expert Maisie Hill, breaks down the most common questions, outlines what’s happening at each point of the month and allows us to get to know ourselves so much better.

Bullet Points | How to Make a Habit
There has been a lot of chat in DMs and on email about habits in the last few weeks, so I thought it’d be a good idea to take a look at the ways in which you can feel out whether a habit is right for you. We’ve all had to adjust this year, with varying degrees of restrictions and lockdowns but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to weave new and helpful habits into our new normal. In this episode I share the six strategies that I think can help you make a habit stick or, perhaps more crucially, how to tell if it’s just not for you, including: * Starting small and easing your way into whatever it is you’re trying. * Giving yourself a timeframe. * Attaching your new habit to something you already do and enjoy doing. * Keeping a visual log of your habit as you do them. * How a little accountability can help make a habit take root and give you a sense of satisfaction from day one. * Figuring out what might get in your way before you begin so you can plot a course around, or through, it. As ever, I’d love to know what you think whether that’s in the comments below, on DM or via email. I make this podcast for YOU and if there’s anything you’d like to hear on this subject, or any other, please feel free to let me know.
