FHP S2: E39 - The Blame Game
3 min

Whether we succeed or we fail, ultimately?

Well ultimately we are to blame.

However, it isn’t easy to accept that we are at fault.

It’s way easier to blame outside factors…

We didn’t have enough time.

The plan was flawed.

Work or life obligations got in the way.

But guess what?

It’s still your fault no matter how “real” or valid the excuses are.

And that should actually be a positive thing if we truly want to make a change.

Because it then means that ultimately YOU are in CONTROL.

When we blame outside forces, we give them the power.

We give them power, because we don’t want to be at fault.

It sucks admitting you failed.

It’s hard to realize we sucked at something. Or didn’t stick to the plan.

It’s suck to admit we have a weakness.

But when you admit it’s your own flaw?

You also gain control of your future.

You then have the power to CHANGE your situation.

That control, and the acceptance of your failures, is what ultimately leads to your success.

Those that succeed honestly often don’t really have a better plan. They didn’t have perfect timing.

Shit got in the way and they had countless setbacks.

But they owned their failures. Blamed themselves and not things outside of their control.

And they put in the work to make the changes.

Stop blaming everything but yourself.

Because ultimately YOU are in control.

Ultimately only you can choose how to react to a situation. Only you can choose to move forward.

Your WEIGHT Is Not The Problem
People look at their weight and think that’s the problem. But in reality, your weight is the result of a BIGGER PROBLEM. Your weight is a symptom of the actual problem. You’ll find so many people struggling to lose weight all the time and even regaining it all back. This is because the bioaccumulation of body fat is not the problem; it is a symptom and a result of a bigger problem in your life. The question you need to ask yourself is, what’s going on in your life that is causing the accumulation of excess body fat? From our experience dealing with the thousands of people who come through our programs, some of the bigger problems are sleep deprivation, not drinking enough water, and eating chemically processed crap food. Being overweight is not healthy. It is an indication of bigger problems and means you are not practicing self-care. If you take the time to look at the bigger issues and take care of them, the weight will certainly go off. It is not about the numbers on the scale but about your health and your life. Tune in to this episode to learn how to heal your body and take care of the big problems that are leading to your weight gain. Autumn Kumlien
In this episode of Intermittent Fasting Stories, Gin talks to Autumn Kumlien, a Registered Dietician and Nutritionist from Milton, Wisconsin. This episode is brought to you by Audible! Audible is the leading provider of spoken-word entertainment and audiobooks, including bestsellers like Gin’s latest book Fast. Feast. Repeat. Visit audible.com/ifstories to start exploring Audible with a 30-day free trial.  Autumn shares that from third grade on, she was the tallest and biggest of all of her friends. No one made a big deal about her weight, but suddenly, "I thought I better do something about it." She began portioning out her food. Autumn's mother began dieting around this time, and she did the same. By eighth grade, Autumn had dieted her way to 205 pounds, her father calling her "Amazon Girl." By college, Autumn had leaned out some, and decided to join her mother on Weight Watchers. She easily lost more weight, but maintaining it was very difficult, and she gained back all the weight she had lost. After a long journey with trying to get pregnant, and then pregnancy itself, Autumn was not able to lose the weight she had gained. Being a dietician, she felt as though she knew what to do to lose weight, but nothing worked! By the time Autumn was about to turn forty, with her weight climbing, her husband heard about IF through a podcast. She began IF in November of 2018 with a window of between 7-11 hours. In January of 2019, Autumn found the IF Stories podcast, listening each day on her way to work. She also read Delay, Don't Deny and The Obesity Code. She gradually increased her fasting hours, and currently follows a 20:4 protocol. Autumn has gone from 175 pounds to 140 pounds. Her husband joined her with IF, losing 87 pounds himself.  The advice Autumn would give new IFers: "Trust the process. Don't go by just the scale because it's just data! Enjoy the process." Most People Have This Backwards [Change It and Change Your Life]
For 20 years I’ve been teaching people how to lose weight. I teach them all about nutrition … all about exercise … all about how to make it practical and doable. You name it and over the past 20 years I’ve probably helped someone do it. I’ve learned a TON over two decades, but one huge thing just sticks out. It stands way above all of the other things I’ve learned. So what is it?  What is the #1 thing I’ve learned and noticed? Most people have it backwards.   More specifically - most people have ONE key element of this whole weight loss thing totally backwards. In this episode, I’m going to pull back the curtain and tell you what they get backwards and then it’s your choice.  Forewarning - you probably won’t agree at first. And that’s okay. That’s the reaction I normally get. But eventually … people who stick with it long enough will discover the truth of what I share. Or they just constantly chase their tail and continue pursuing weight loss in different versions of the same miserable way. Ready to get it right and change your life? Let's do it!   COREY LITTLE COACHING INSTAGRAM:https://www.instagram.com/coreylittlecoach/ ( https://www.instagram.com/coreylittlecoach/)   COREY LITTLE COACHING FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/Corey-Little-Coaching-1495130914061994 (https://www.facebook.com/Corey-Little-Coaching-1495130914061994)   COREY LITTLE COACHING ONLINE:http://coreylittlecoaching.com/ ( http://coreylittlecoaching.com/)   HOW TO POST PODCAST REVIEW: https://ios.gadgethacks.com/how-to/rate-review-apple-podcast-series-show-for-others-view-0199495/   FREE CATALYST AUDIO PROGRAM:http://bit.ly/catalyst-program ( http://bit.ly/catalyst-program)
