When Steve Harwell of Smashmouth was Up & Adam in the Morning
Former Smash Mouth singer Steve Harwell passed away yesterday. He was only 56. According to reports, he was in hospice care due to liver failure. Almost EVERYONE knows Smash Mouth's hit, "All Star". It was in "Shrek", along with their Monkees cover of "I'm a Believer". Steve started Smash Mouth back in 1994, and he was the lead singer until his retirement two years ago, when he left due to ongoing physical and mental health issues. It brought up other series finales that had a TON of conversation surrounding them for whatever reasons: Sopranos, Seinfeld. When they're good, they're incredible, but when a series finale is bunk, it feels like you've been robbed! What was the worst finale of a show that you expected more from?

Survivor Stacie Athon is Up & Adam in the Morning!
We met Stacie last year on the show when she shared her unique story of being diagnosed with a triple negative rare form of breast cancer just a small time after marrying the love of her life. After complications, her doctors and insurance said there was nothing left to do, so she sought some alternative immuno-therapies and has made some great strides. Paso Robles Mourns the Passing of Mayor Steve Martin
Paso Robles City Manager Ty Lewis calls in to Adam live to pay tribute to Mayor Steve Martin who just passed away of a hard fought illness. Steve served Paso as far back as the 80's when he began on city council. He was also Mayor from 88-90. He was serving his third consecutive four year term when he passed. Ty shares his memories of his friend and colleague, as well as Steve's love and commitment to Paso Robles. Much love to his wife Jennifer, and his two daughters.

Artist Charlie Rugg Meets the Unknown Man from His Painting at the SLO Museum
Adam had in Charlie recently to talk about his show going on until the end of May at the SLO Museum of Art. The show titled, "And Also" is anchored by its largest piece titled, "Both" which features an unknown man Charlie painted after being moved at a photograph that featured the young man. Adam told Charlie on the air that he wanted to find this unknown man so Charlie could connect with him. Mesa Middle School Teacher Sarah Watts was arrested after an aggressive interaction with a 13 year old girl in her class that left visible injuries on the student in two separate interactions. Judge Jarvis Rules on Local Winery Neighbor Dispute!
A Vineyard Drive winery went under new ownership and made some new grape plantings near their property line. Along with the plantings, a fan loud fan preventing the new grapes from getting frost bitten is causing many issues with the neighbor. Apparently the fan rotates and sounds like a helicopter outside their house as well as blows walnuts, rocks, branches and more towards their house. Nap Boxes are a Thing!
Wouldn't it be great if there was a place to take naps at work? A company in Japan has a new product called "nap boxes" to give workers a place to take power naps. But you have to sleep STANDING UP. (???)
Each one has three small shelves inside, strategically placed to support your knees, head, and butt. So you're partially supported, but still vertical.
They claim it's comfortable, but it's hard to tell.

Adam spent 3 days in New Cuyama, which is in between our coast and I-5. Built in the mid 50's, the town is having a resurgence and there are lots of reasons to visit. Today we will chat with Farmers Steve Gliessman and Roberta (Robbie) Jaffe of Condor's Hope. They grow their 5-acre vineyard using traditional dry-farm practices they learned from Benito Dusi producing full-bodied, bold, complex wines and more, while protecting the environment and conserving water. Peaks for Peak is Up & Adam in the Morning!
Celia Uribe and Lindsey Haring are both local moms raising money for local kids to keep them active. 'Peaks for Peak' began last year as a colab with The Mountain Air store and some local schools. They have students at CL Smith and were Up & Adam sharing how you can help raise money for these kids, by simply getting outside.
If you go on a hike, you can submit your name and the trail you hiked at The Mountain Air's website, www.themountainair.com . It doesn't even have to be a peak, it can be anything from walking the park, to the Bob Jones Trail. The Mountain Air will donate $20 to PEAK for every submission it receives. No photo evidence is required and you don't have to post about it on social media. Listen, check it out, and help this worthy cause just by getting outside!
