Farr A. Curlin, MD, is Josiah C. Trent Professor of Medical Humanities in the Trent Center for Bioethics, Humanities and History of Medicine, and Co-Director of the Theology, Medicine and Culture Initiative at Duke Divinity School. Before moving to Duke in 2014, he founded and was Co-Director of the Program on Medicine and Religion at the University of Chicago. At Duke, Farr practices palliative medicine and works with colleagues in the Trent Center and the Divinity School to develop opportunities for education and scholarship at the intersection of theology, medicine and culture. He is interested in the moral and spiritual dimensions of medical practice—particularly the doctor-patient relationship, the moral and professional formation of physicians, and practices of care for patients at the end of life.

David Stevens, MD welcomes the newest member of the CMDA staff, Vice President of Dental Ministries, Bill Griffin, DDS.
CMDA's New CEO
Mike Chupp, MD, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a pre-medical degree in chemistry from Taylor University in 1984, and then graduated as an AOA scholar with an MD degree from Indiana University in 1988. He completed a five-year general surgery residency at Methodist Hospital in 1993. From 1993 to 2016, Mike fit in nearly seven years of private general surgery practice as a missionary member of the Surgical Department of Southwestern Medical Clinic (a large Christian multi-specialty group) and Lakeland Regional Health System in St. Joseph, Michigan. He recently completed 20 years of service as career missionaries with World Gospel Mission, serving at Tenwek Mission Hospital in Kenya. Mike wore several different leadership hats in Kenya including serving several years as the Assistant Country Director for WGM Kenya during the latter part of his missionary career. Mike has been married to Pam for 26 years and they have four children.
Loving By Leading
Den Trumbull, MD, is board certified in pediatrics and a Fellow of the American College of Pediatricians. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at the University of Florida and then attended the University of Miami School of Medicine for his medical degree. Dr. Trumbull has a special interest in behavioral pediatrics and has written and spoken nationally on the topic of parenting. He is the author of the parenting book, Loving by Leading: A Parent’s Guide to Raising Healthy and Responsible Children, in which he encourages parents to lead their children to healthy living and character development. Dr. Trumbull is also creator of the research-based parenting website, GoodParent.org.
