God vs. Nothing
Carl Kerby was first introduced to apologetics by two pilots after he’d told them evolution was compatible with the Bible, which is what he’d been taught in Sunday school. These men pulled out their Bible and showed him that what the WORLD taught wasn’t the same as what the WORD taught. With 50% to 88% of the younger generation raised in the church leaving the church by the age of 18, Carl’s desire is for them to KNOW what they’re walking away from. This can only happen if they’re able to critically think and evaluate arguments so they can determine truth.
Carl would say he doesn’t enjoy speaking, at times he’s terrified of it. However, seeing people get excited because they realize they can trust the Word of God inspires him to continue on. When he’s not speaking, Carl loves being with his family and friends. He also enjoys the ocean - snorkeling, boogie boarding or fishing. Deception in the Church - Where is it taking us?
Kerugma Productions is a faith mission which depends solely upon the Lord’s provision through his children for everything that is necessary. It was in this manner that the Lord provided in an amazing way, so enabling us to buy one of the first broadcast-quality digital cameras soon after Kerugma was founded. Shortly after that someone mentioned to us that the well-known American Christian author, Dave Hunt, would be visiting South Africa. As we were living in Cape Town at the time, I emailed Dave Hunt to ask if it would be possible to film the messages he would deliver in this city upon his visit to our country. He responded by inviting me to film every message of his prolonged tour. It was arranged for him to preach during July and August 1999, beginning in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and on to Johannesburg, Welkom, Pietermaritzburg, Durban and along the coast down to Port Elizabeth and then Cape Town. Born in 1926, Dave enjoyed the advantages of a godly upbringing, and placed his trust in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord in his early teens.
He received a degree in mathematics from U.C.L.A. Marriage to his wife, Ruth, was followed by the birth of four children, a career as CPA/management consultant and, later, the management of several corporations. Along with church-related activities, Dave initiated and became involved in numerous campus ministries and meetings in his home, with a special outreach to Jewish young people and foreign students.
