The Time is Now is a mini-series produced by PublicSpaces ahead of the PublicSpaces Conference organized in Amsterdam on the 17th and 18th of May 2022. In this short mini-series, we talk to three contributors to the conference who found their own unique way of utilizing technology to address difficult problems. PublicSpaces is a coalition of public organizations in the Netherlands that aims to promote a healthier online environment. We share a common view that an alternative is necessary and are reimagining the internet as a public space. PublicSpaces is therefore committed to providing an alternative software ecosystem that serves the common interest and does not seek profit.
