Hiring the right people Step 4: Interview Anyone in 2.5 Minutes
Play • 17 min

In this episode of SYS Hiring the Right People, Steve talks about how you can interview ANYONE in just 2 and a half minutes!

  • When you are trying to narrow down candidates you just want to know if this is the sort of person you want to work with, can they communicate and if they present themselves well, you can do all of this in 2.5 minutes.

  • You want to eliminate anyone who isn’t happy to do a video interview, if you are hiring someone to work remotely for you then you need to be able to communicate via video, so you need them to be comfortable and confident with this medium.

  • All you need to do is create your own video with your questions, ask them to video themselves answering these in 5 minutes, then just listen at double speed- there you have it, you are interviewing someone in 2.5 minutes!

“This is an absolute game changer when you’re trying to sift through that final shortlist”

 “Recruitment is about elimination”

“This is a chance for even people who may get nervous in a live interview situation to actually shine and perform at their best”
