1907: 8 Little Ways to Simplify Your Life by Courtney Carver of Be More With Less on Creating A Simple Life
Courtney Carver of Be More With Less shares 8 little ways to simplify your life. Episode 1907: 8 Little Ways to Simplify Your Life by Courtney Carver of Be More With Less on Creating A Simple Life Courtney Carver was stopped in her tracks with a scary MS diagnosis after decades of debt, discontent, and trying to do it all. She had to slow down, prioritize her health, and figure out what was really important in her life. She discovered what mattered most by getting rid of everything that didn’t matter at all. In the end it all came down to love and health. She went from a busy, overwhelmed advertising director to spending 2-3 hours every morning taking care of herself, loving her work, and being present and engaged with the people she loves. Her family changed, too. They moved from wanting bigger closets, nicer furniture, and more stuff to downsizing into a 750 sq. ft apartment with no storage. Courtney has written books, courses, and hundreds of articles to help you simplify your life and work so you can focus on what really matters. 1107 | Ed Mylett: “The Key to Life is Changing Your Internal Thermostat.”
Excellence is something that one cultivates consistently. It is not simply an act but a habit. In this episode, Ed Mylett ( https://www.edmylett.com ) shares with us the key to getting on top of the game and staying there. From Ed’s observation, some people achieve their dream only to fall back to where they started. Ed reminds us that excellence is something we repeatedly do. Thus, you have to work on who you are consistently. After all, the key to life is not the knowledge you learned because knowledge is not power if it’s not applied. To achieve and live your dream requires you to constantly work on yourself. Overall, one of the greatest strengths and wealth in life is self-control. No one’s as superior as someone who has no master except his own soul. Summary of "The Sunflower" by Simon Wiesenthal | Free Audiobook
Come along on a Holocaust survivor’s quest to answer the questions surrounding the forgiveness of a Nazi soldier. Imagine that while experiencing the atrocities of living in a concentration camp, you become confronted with a dying Nazi soldier’s request for forgiveness. Could you forgive a person who played a role in the systematic killing of millions of innocent people? While holding his hand and listening to confessions of the crimes against your own people, many others outside are suffering from starvation, working to death, and being led into gas chambers. Simon Wiesenthal experienced such a scenario during his time at a concentration camp in German-occupied Poland, and he has since been plagued with the question: to forgive or not to forgive? Of course, he has lived with the decision that he made at that moment, but his experience has inspired him to seek answers from others. By speaking with more than 50 people from different walks of life, ranging from religious leaders to fellow genocide survivors, Wiesenthal seeks to answer if he made the right decision. As you read, learn about a dying Nazi’s search for repentance, how Wiesenthal reacts when face-to-face with a murderer, and lastly, why practicers of Judaism believe murderers cannot be forgiven. Don’t Get Even, Get Justice | Cultivate Indifference
“These are angry times… with plenty to be angry about. From politicians that have failed us to systemic evils that have gone on for too long. Maybe you’re someone who was conned, pressured into spending money you didn’t have with the hope of promises someone didn’t keep. Maybe you were hurt in an accident. Maybe you were wrongly deprived of your liberties or fair share.” Ryan explains why justice should always prevail over anger, and reads this week’s meditation from The Daily Stoic Journal, on today’s Daily Stoic Podcast. This episode is also brought to you by The School of Greatness podcast. Hosted by Lewis Howes it features interviews from athletes like Kobe Bryant and Novak Djokovic, influencers like Brene Brown and Tony Robbins, authors like Robert Greene and Tim Ferriss, and more.
