This week Marietta Daily Journal staff writer Aleks Gilbert talks with Wellstar Kennestone Hospital President Mary Chapman, one of Cobb’s leaders in the medical field, to discuss  COVID- 19 and the effects on the hospital and Cobb County.

“We have seen over the last five days a decrease in our numbers of what we call patients under investigation. That number has been as high as double digits. ... we have also seen a flattening of the curve in the number of positive (cases of Covid-19)” – Mary Chatman

Chatman, who holds a Ph.D. in nursing administration from East Carolina University, has over 30 years in health care experience and has served as chief operating officer and chief nursing officer in Greenville, North Carolina and Savannah. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Nurses Association, and has served on the Georgia State Board of Nursing.
