North Dakota State is all over the national football map. The Bison were mentioned plenty Thursday night when Trey Lance was drafted third overall by San Francisco. Kolpack and Izzo break that down and what it means for the Bison. They also preview this weekend's FCS quarterfinal game between NDSU and Sam Houston, as the two teams are set to meet in the postseason for a fifth time.

Kolpack and Izzo Podcast: EWU game preview
The FCS Playoffs return to Fargo for an eleventh straight year and much like the first year, North Dakota State has a difficult road. The Bison will host 2010 national champion and 2018 national runners-up Eastern Washington in the first round Saturday at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome. Kolpack and Izzo Podcast: Jabril Cox enters transfer portal
North Dakota State will open spring practice later this month, but it is likely its top defensive player will not be there. Senior to be linebacker Jabril Cox announced on Monday that he has put his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal, with the hope of fulfilling a dream of playing at an FBS school. Cox has been a star player for NDSU shortly after he took the field in 2017, named the Missouri Valley Newcomer and Freshman of the Year in 2017, followed by the Defensive Player of the Year in 2018. He finished fourth in the Buck Buchanan Award voting this fall, which goes to the top defensive player in the country.

North Dakota State and the University of North Dakota may be getting a new school in their conference. The University of St. Thomas was formally invited by the Summit League Friday, pending NCAA approval of the school getting a waiver to move from Division III to Division I. The Tommies were kicked out of the MIAC in May, when the league cited "competitive balance" as one of the reasons for the dismissal. Forum columnist and podcast Mike McFeely joins the show to discuss the move as does NDSU Athletic Director Matt Larsen.
