Ep 8: Losing Our House to the Cedar Fire
Play • 57 min

When our childhood home burned down in the Cedar Fire in 2003, we were too young to fully understand the gravity of what had happened. Looking back, we realize just how traumatic the experience was, and the lasting impact it had on who we are. On this episode, we’re opening up and reflecting on some of the life-changing childhood experiences that have shaped our lives, the different ways we’ve coped, and the importance of taking a moment to slow things down (before your life does it for you!)

We’re exploring:

  • The surprising realizations Karli and Kasey uncover about how they experienced events from their childhood
  • Why intuitive energy and physical & emotional connections are stronger during trauma
  • Kasey’s trade-off as an empath
  • Why you should be setting boundaries and creating space for yourself
  • How stress contributes to chronic illness and the importance of developing healthy coping mechanisms
  • Why Kasey believes everything in life is driven by love or fear
  • Karli’s mic-drop worthy advice for slowing down, addressing your experiences, and existing for yourself
  • And so much more!
