Could You Survive Lord of the Rings? BossCast Episode #4
The FinalBoss team are back with episode 4 of our new podcast, BossCast. In each edition of the show, a rotating lineup from the FinalBoss team will be chatting about various topics from across our favourite subjects - games, movies and TV. In this episode Ryan, James, Scott and Shaun have two very different subjects on the menu, In this episode, FinalBoss talk: How To Survive: Middle Earth 0:26 Xbox Games Showcase Preview 32:15 How To Survive: Middle Earth Our main feature this week is our first round of 'How To Survive', this time Middle Earth. During the time of the war of the ring, what if we four humans were randomly dropped into the world of the Lord Of The Rings movies? How would we survive? Where's the best place in Middle Earth to go? Who would we befriend from the many races of Middle Earth? What do we need to do to live through the many battles taking placing throughout Middle Earth? Xbox Games Showcase Preview We discuss the Xbox games showcase which is happening on Thursday 23rd July and what games we would like to see. We start with Halo Infinite and chat about what a modern Halo game should look like. We then tie things in beautifully with the previous segment by looking at Lord Of The Rings: Gollum, before we move on to talk about the possibility of Fable 4. We then look at the future of Xbox Gamepass and Xbox Live. For some reason, we gloss over all the sports-based games that might feature and finish with a chat about Hellblade 2. Previous episodes of BossCast have covered The Mandalorian, The Last Of Us and Jaws. You can find all the details and listen via our dedicated podcast page. FinalBoss will be back with another podcast very soon. If you enjoy the show, please subscribe wherever you listen to your podcasts, so you won’t miss our next episode!

Bonus Podcast Episode #3: All Things Jaws
Yes, it's only the third episode of the BossCast and we're already breaking from the regular format for our first special edition! In these specials, we'll be taking a deep dive into one particular subject; first up it's Jaws! Noted FinalBoss shark experts James and Shaun are on board to voyage through the history and legacy of Steven Spielberg's 1975 blockbuster, which opened 45 years ago this month. What a coincidence. The episode is divided into five very unequal segments, and please note the podcast contains major SPOILERS relating to all The movie 0:25 The novel 24:58 The sequels 31:36 Other shark movies 41:32 Trivia 49:20 The Movie James and Shaun chat about why they love the movie, their favourite characters and scenes, what it did for the reputation of sharks and ponder what a 2020 version would be like. The Novel Shaun (read the book) runs through some of the major differences between the book and the film and gets James' (has not read the book) reaction to how different some storylines in the movie could have been. They also take a moment to look at the impact on the author Peter Benchley, who's attitude towards sharks changed upon the film's release. The Sequels Into the murky waters of the sequels we go. Shaun (seen them) runs through the major plot points and tries to answer James' awkward questions. How is Vaughan still mayor? Why would the Brody kids be anywhere near water again? Other Shark Movies Since the success of Jaws, there have been many imitations. Guess what? Shaun has seen several, James less. They talk Open Water, The Shallows and laugh at the increasingly ridiculous nature of the genre, Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus anyone? Trivia James in his element now, reeling off fact-after-fact about the movie and it's making. My favourite: why is the boat name Orca? The Last of Us 2 Speculation, Snyder Cut and News! BossCast #2
The FinalBoss team are back with our second episode in the revamped podcast format. The BossCast returns with chatter about games, movies, TV and more. This week, we’re joined by another member of the FinalBoss team, Roy! A gaming aficionado and fan of the Playstation lifestyle, Roy’s joined us this week to discuss our feature topic: The Last of Us 2 - expect to hear more from him in future episodes, too! As always, the BossCast is broken down into three sections. In this episode, FinalBoss talk: Our top news picks of the week! 0:11 The Last of Us Part 2 and what we want to see 8:36 What Sucks this Week: The Zack Snyder Cut 32:48 The BossCast News: The team take it in turns to cover some of the biggest news points of the week. This week we’re covering a variety of topics including: Space Force: Steve Carrell stars in a new political-satire comedy that pokes fun at the Trump administration without ever mentioning the big man himself. Iron Man VR: A VR version of the Iron Man experience is heading to our homes. We discuss what it’ll be like to live like the Marvel legend. Harley Quinn TV Series: The Harley Quinn TV series recently launched on E4 in the UK. Should you watch it? PlayStation 5 News: As we barrel towards the release of the Playstation 5, FinalBoss talks about some of the latest details. The BossCast Feature: The Last of Us Part 2 Following a series of delays and leaks, The Last of Us Part 2 is finally set to land on PlayStation as an exclusive title on June 19th. As fans of the previous incarnation, the FinalBoss team is chatting about this upcoming title, looking at everything from technical information and gameplay to what we want to see from this narrative-driven game. What Sucks this Week: The Zack Snyder Cut After a huge fan campaign, Zack Snyder has been given the green light to produce his own version of the Justice League movie. After leaving the project before its official release, it has long been argued that Snyder’s original vision for the film never saw the light of day; much to the annoyance of fans. Promising a more enthralling version of the movie that disappointed so many, in 2021, this ‘Snyder Cut’ of the Justice League will be available on HBO Max. In the final segment of the BossCast, the team discuss expectations for the movie, why it’s a shame we ever needed it in the first place, and what our hopes are for its impact on the industry as a whole. We also cover the ‘Ayer Cut’ of Suicide Squad, a movement born from the Snyder Cut revolt. If you enjoy the BossCast, be sure to go back and listen to our first episode. In our first BossCast, we chat about The Mandalorian season 2 and what the delay of Tenet could mean for cinema releases in 2020.

What to Expect from Mandalorian Season 2: FinalBoss Podcast #1
After a long hiatus, FinalBoss is back with the first episode of our rebooted podcast. This time, the team has expanded and your hosts will be James, Ryan, Shaun and Scott. Abiding by strict social-distancing measures, the team chat from their homes via webcast. In this episode, FinalBoss talk: Our top news picks of the week! 0:32 The Mandalorian Season 2 and what we want to see 15:26 Tenet's potential cinematic delay and the fallout of such a decision 43:22 The Podcast News Each week the team bring a piece of news that caught their attention that week. In our first episode, we have four stories for you: Ryan chats about Amazon Prime's new TV series Upload. Set in a future society that uploads consciousness to computers, it explores a future concept many believe to be just around the corner. Shaun brings us news of directer-duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller who, following their boot from Stars War's Solo movie, have been drafted into a new sci-fi project. Scott's story covers the reveal of Unreal Engine 5, with the team discussing what it means for the gaming community. James discusses The New Mutants, an X-Men movie that has been delayed time and time again, and looks set to potentially be released this year - or maybe not! What to Expect From The Mandalorian Season 2 The biggest talking point of FinalBoss Podcast Episode #1 is the return of the Mandalorian later this year, and what we're hoping to see when it finally gets to us. While most of the FinalBoss team enjoyed the first season of The Mandalorian, we all agree that we expect more from this season. In this chat we discuss pushing forward with some more Mandalorian lore, progressing the Baby Yoda plotline, and giving us a better sense of the Mandalorian as a character. Will Tenet's Delay Be The Death of Cinema Until 2021? Finally, we close off the podcast with a discussion on the recent news that Christopher Nolan's big new movie, Tenet, might be delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Since this delay will occur after the lockdown measures are relaxed and cinemas are reopened with social-distancing measures, concerns are that a push back of Tenet may destroy the confidence of other studios. We talk about the prospect of a year without any more new releases, if Tenet paves the way for all movies to be forced back into the new year. FinalBoss will be back with another podcast very soon.
