Today on the podcast Alex is joined by singer/songwriter Kristen Martell. On Thursday April 29th, Kristen released her new single “Photograph of Secrets” following up the song’s release with a behind-the-scenes music video on May 13th.The song is a collaborative effort between Martell and award-winning artist Gabrielle Papillon, along with award-winning Producer Dan Ledwell. We talk about the mentorship program Kristen enrolled herself in to make recording with the award-winning pair possible, her 10 years hiatus from the music world, and what brought her back to recording her ECMA nominated album “Coming Home”.We also take a moment to recognize the colonial history of Canada following the discovery of a mass grave containing the bodies of 215 indigenous children beneath a former residential school.
