İmdat Öner discusses the results of the massive purge that took place in the Turkish Foreign Service in the wake of the 15 July 2016 coup attempt as well as a Eurasianist turn that accompanies it, and explains how that amounts to a critical shift in the Ministry's traditional code of conduct and role vis-à-vis the foreign policy making of the country.

İmdat Öner is a former Turkish diplomat and an instituDE Board Member. He is currently a Senior Policy Analyst at Jack D. Gordon Public Policy Institute of Florida International University (FIU), where he is also pursuing a combined MA/PhD program in Latin American and Caribbean Studies (MA) and International Relations (PhD).
