Welcome to episode 4 of the Haiku Pea podcast. from www.poetrypea.com A podcast for Haiku, where I hope over time to share my daily haiku, submissions from you and tips for writing that I glean along my journey.
I’m surprised and cautiously optimistic about submissions as they have started to come in already. Even so it would be great if you could spread the word that people can get a Showcase here on The Haiku Pea podcast and the website of course, www.poetrypea.com.
This week I did lots of walking both here in the Woodlands and hills of Zürich and up in the mountains around the JungFrau and the Eiger, where the snow has started to fall. You can really feel winter creeping in here in Switzerland. I find this time of year can be a bit gloomy, don’t you?
Then a couple of days in the UK over the weekend to catch up with friends and family. Something to lift the clouds.
As I said, I’m delighted that submissions are starting to come in for the guest haiku slot and this week I'm featuring a Haiku from Amelia. Thanks Amelia.
It's interesting that the first two Haiku that I’m featuring both come from writers with a connection to Manchester in England. Is Manchester a home for the Haiku?
If you have Haiku you’d like to submit, please go to the poetrypea website and read the submissions page. I take the view that Jane Reichhold has "no one really knows how to write a haiku” and so she says "try strict rules, try breaking the rules… But keep trying." All haiku writing is welcome! Send them in...
