As COVID Crisis Continues, Chances of Stimulus Before November Plummet
In this episode of By Any Means Necessary, hosts Sean Blackmon and Jacquie Luqman discuss the latest Prison Radio segment by political prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal, "Disaster At The Heart of Empire," and why the ongoing government refusal to tackle the public health crisis seems to signal the beginning of the end for US imperialism. In the second segment, Sean and Jacquie are joined by David Swanson, an activist, journalist, radio host and the Executive Director of World Beyond War, to discuss the latest in the US presidential election, Joe Biden's description of Amy Coney Barrett as "a very fine person," and why the race "between a pro-war candidate and a pro-war candidate" means not much is likely to change regardless of the result in November. In the third segment, Sean and Jacquie are joined by Dr. Jack Rasmus, economist, radio show host, & author of "The Scourge of Neoliberalism," to discuss the on the on-again, off-again stimulus negotiations between Democrats and Republicans, why they're unlikely to result in anything but campaign material for Trump campaign, and the lack of a real economic recovery for anyone but the ruling class. Later in the show, Sean and Jacquie are joined by Monica Cruz, host of Breakthrough News, to discuss the revelation that the grand jury in the Breonna Taylor case was not given the opportunity to bring homicide charges against the police who killed the young woman, the global significance of the first-round victory by the MAS party in Bolivia, and 50 Cent's endorsement of Donald Trump despite the rapper's admission that the President "doesn't like Black people."

Mary L. Trump blames her Uncle's "criminal" coronavirus response for 200,000+ American deaths
Scott talks with Mary L. Trump in this fascinating and wide-ranging interview. Mary told us about the details of her NY Times #1 bestselling book "Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man," including why she went public. We also asked Donald Trump's niece for her insights into his failed coronavirus response, which she calls "criminal," as well as NBC's decision to air a town hall last week when her Uncle backed out of the formal debate because as she says, he is a "coward." "When Mitt Romney got taken to the woodshed for saying to somebody he was debating, 'I bet you $10,000," because he was such an out of touch elitist," said Mary L. Trump about last week's dueling town hall debates. "And now here's Donald who probably doesn't have 10 bucks in the bank saying [owing] $410 million isn't a lot of money." "What I worried about and have thought for a long time is that the worst possible scenario would be if he got COVID-19, but either had a mild case or a moderate case from which he recovered quickly," says the President's niece about his recent illness that forced him to go to Walter Reed hospital for experimental medical treatment. "And that's exactly what happened. [T]he reason I thought that that was going to be disasters because of what he did afterward, telling people that they should not let COVID-19 dominate their lives. That." Disclosure: This post uses affiliate ad links. Ep. 305: The Legacy of White Supremacy in American Christianity
Robert P. Jones is the CEO and Founder of PRRI and a leading scholar and commentator on religion, culture, and politics. He is the author of the acclaimed book The End of White Christian America. His new book is White Too Long: The Legacy of White Supremacy in American Christianity. Jones reflects on the relationship between racism and white supremacy in White Christianity and the Age of Trump. Jones also explains how the lie that Christianity is somehow “race neutral” and “colorblind” does the work of right-wing politics and of sustaining social inequality along the color line in the United States and around the world. He also shares new data on authoritarianism and White Christian identity politics. Chauncey DeVega reflects on the emotional state of the American people in these weeks prior to Election Day 2020 and the cost of being a hope warrior and the need for both inspiration as well as healthy pessimism (and realism) about the tough fight ahead. In the age of Trump’s pandemic, Chauncey DeVega returns to the movies (again) and shares his thoughts on Yellow Rose, The Last Shift, and The War with Grandpa. And Chauncey defends the honor of rats in the face of the horrible slur that “Republicans are escaping Donald Trump like rats fleeing a sinking ship”.
