In 2018, he launched the Vox&Hops Metal Podcast which was inspired by his love of Craft Beer & thought-provoking discussions. This is Haze Wars
On Saturday May 6th at Kahnawake Brewing the 1st edition of Yakima Chief Hops presents Vox&Hops Haze Wars took place. Sir John Brewing, Kahnawake Brewing, Microbrasserie Jackalhop, Brasserie du Bas Canada, BG Brasserie Urbaine & Toltèk Brasseur Artisan went head to head to create their best Mono Hop IPA using HBC586 Hops. HBC586 Hops is an experimental hops that is known to be herbaceous & showcase a large melody of fruity flavours such as mango and citrus.

Throughout this chat Duncan was drinking a Carling Black Label while I enjoyed Microbrasserie À la Fût 's "Chai Riff".
This was a very fun beer experiment. They packaged together their "Cowsure Framboise" the 5.4% Sour Raspberry Saison with a 5% Kriek Base. They encouraged us to blend the two beers & let them know what our favourite proportions were. For myself, I enjoyed a 75% Cowsure to 25% Kriek base blend.

One of my very first friends, Chris Flint, who I met in kindergarten and was in my first band Nixtasm. Vince Berardinucci, who I met in high school and I went to my first concerts with, drank my first beers with & discovered metal with. Throughout tonight's hang I enjoyed 2 very special brews: Ras L'Bock x Microbrasserie À la Fût 's "L'Anse de Mékinac" & Microbrasserie À la Fût x Ras L'Bock 's "Rouge de L'Anse".
This is a unique Collab. Both breweries blended their own version of a Flanders Red with Wild Cherries with the others & then aged the results in Oak Barrels.
"L'Anse de Mékinac" pours out with a deep red orange veil, slaps earthy oak on the nose, rips a tart acidic fruity finish & clocks in with a 6.6% ABV.
"Rouge de L'Anse" pours out with a cloudy orange veil, radiates oak laced cherries on the nose, smashes a tart smooth funky finish & clocks in with a 5.4% ABV.

It had been a while since I had to connect with the wonderful humans of the Thirsty Thursday Gang so I decided to do a good old fashioned Q&A session with them.
Throughout this chat, I enjoyed 5e Baron 's "Bénédicte" the 5% ABV Dunkel. This gorgeous brew poured out with a reddish copper veil, slapped sweet malts on the nose, ripped a caramel & dry finish. I continued with Ras L'Bock 's "Double Double 100% Galaxy" the 8.4% ABV TDH Double IPA. This sick beer poured out with a light orange veil, smashed dank fruity vibes on the nose, crushed a somewhat boozy delicate hop burn finish.

Winning a Juno & a Striker craft brew made 2020 bearable with Dan Cleary of Striker
