DFS Lineup Advice: Divisional Round Playoffs (Ep. 645)
Derek Brown of FTN has joined us as we dive into this weekend's playoff matchups to find both the top cash game (5:30) and GPP DFS plays (49:19). Does Stefon Diggs' (11:14) price make him a more compelling play on DraftKings than Tyreek Hill (10:12), or is Hill's higher floor too attractive to pass on? Does the cash game QB conversation end with Lamar Jackson (18:35) and Patrick Mahomes (20:41) or does Buffalo's near complete reliance on their passing game make Josh Allen (24:00) very difficult to fade? Michael Thomas (41:46) appears to be undervalued in his matchup against Tampa Bay's beatable secondary. Travis Kelce (27:35) is the main tight end worth playing, but who else should you go with if you choose to spend down at the position in cash games (46:49)? Gabriel Davis (52:29) has an exploitable CB matchup and can be a solid contrarian GPP play if the Bills pass early and often. The Football Girl
What’s Up, Doc? (guest: Jene Bramel)
It’s fantasy football championship week, and there are myriad injuries to be navigated in the most important week of the fantasy season. To find out who’ll be playing and who won’t be, host Pat Fitzmaurice (@Fitz_FF) brings in Dr. Jene Bramel of Football Guys (@JeneBramel), who’s been doing first-rate injury analysis for years. Jene talks about some of the challenges COVID-19 has posed for both the NFL and for health-care professions this year. Then he dives into all the pressing injury news, with details on the status of James Robinson, Kenyan Drake, Raheem Mostert, Antonio Gibson, Christian McCaffrey, Julio Jones, Ronald Jones, Ezekiel Elliot, DeVante Parker, George Kittle and more. He also talks about whether Joe Burrow will be ready for the start of the 2021 season, whether we should be worried about the cumulative effect of Odell Beckham Jr.’s injuries, and whether we can confidently take Saquon Barkley in the first round of 2021 drafts. Jene and Pat discuss whether injury-proneness really exists in the NFL and which teams are the least forthcoming with injury information. Jene explains how he got into fantasy football, and how a Ben Roethlisberger motorcycle accident turned him into a Football Guys injury analyst. He also talks about his own championship prospects for this week and makes a compelling sales pitch for IDP leagues. 10 questions with Michael Fabiano
Host Ian Hartitz welcomes on Sports Illustrated senior fantasy analyst Michael Fabiano to discuss recent NFL developments as well as the Divisional Round. The guys start things off by going over which landing spot would lead to the most 2021 fantasy value for free agent Allen Robinson. Ian and Michael agree that Diontae Johnson should be treated as a legit top-20 WR in 2021 fantasy drafts, but keep an eye on the potential for an unnecessarily large ADP disparity between him and Chase Claypool. Conversation continues with a look at 2021 expectations for Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars, what to expect from the Seahawks without OC Brian Schottenheimer, and where Joe Burrow stacks up in the dynasty QB ranks. The guys next get into the divisional round. Both Ian and Michael think the Browns have a good chance of covering  and we shouldn't discount Baker Mayfield and company in DFS either. Things might not be easy for Aaron Rodgers and company, but it's going to be tough for Jared Goff to keep pace. Conversation winds down with more analysis on the Saints-Buccaneers and Ravens-Bills matchups before the guys finish things off by pondering which team would an alien be best off following and becoming a fan of for the next five years. 0:08 Intro 2:13 Dream landing spot for Allen Robinson II? 5:07 How will Diontae Johnson/Chase Claypool fare in 2021? 8:27 Year 1 expectations for Meyer/Lawrence in JAX? 12:25 Concerned about Seahawks’ offense in 2021? 15:33 How many QBs would you take ahead of Burrow? 17:36 Do the Browns have a shot at beating the Chiefs? 21:18 Can the Rams great defense stop the Packers great offense? 26:04 Will the Buccaneers finally beat the Saints? 31:40 Prediction for Baltimore/Buffalo news headlines? 33:48 Team to root for over the next 5 years?
