The Great Farm Slowdown - 12/11/15
As winter weather settles in on the farm, the pattern of life slows down a little. But with a family to raise and animals to care for, things are still pretty hectic for Cam and Miss E. Tough Breaks and Grassroots - 11/5/15
Halloween may have come and gone, but it left its mark on Miss E, Cam, and the rest of the family (but mostly on Miss E). The Virginia elections have also taken place, and in a town not far from Farmville, grassroots supporters of the right to keep and bear arms fended off a bid by Michael Bloomberg to turn the state's Senate anti-gun. Barnyard Politics 9/10/15

Cam shares the latest attempt to protect his chickens from the local predators, and discusses the possibility of a financial bubble that could impact the nation's small farmers.
Jul 30, 2015
Cam's exploring southwestern Virginia on an epic one-day road trip before welcoming his oldest daughter home for a visit. Plus, we've figured out the trouble with tomatoes, and as it turns out, the "Fool" might have made problems in the garden worse instead of better. Summer Break - 6/11/15
Summer break is almost here for Cam's kids, and Miss E could use a break from milking goats as well. Cam also has a slight break to talk about, but it's all for a good cause. We could all use a break from the Precious Snowflakes but we seem to be inundated with them these days, like Professional Writer Lee Seigel who wrote proudly about defaulting on his student loans and going back on his word, all because he might have had to take a blue collar job otherwise. Not far from the 40 Acres lives an author who's written a book far better than anything that's come from Lee Seigel (at least in Cam's opinion), and he did it all while working those blue collar jobs Seigel disdained. Learn more about Christopher Fisher and "A History of Stone & Steel" on this week's 40 Acres & A Fool.

Beets, Books, Beef, and Beer 5/7/2015
The beets planted weeks ago are now growing strong, but not everything is growing so great on the 40 acres. While Cam's having better luck raising his kids than his San Marzano tomatoes, according to some social scientists the bedtime stories he reads to his kids are disadvantaging others. Cam has a stirring defense of trying to raise your kids right, (along with an admission of a literary guilty pleasure), as well as your invite to an incredible evening honoring fallen heroes at the Duskin & Stephens Beef & Beer Benefit.

And if geography's more your thing, there are plenty of small town festivals to explore this time of year, including Farmville's "Heart of Virginia Festival".
