Trust, Love, & Commitment with Chris Zorich
Play • 59 min

Chris Zorich grew up on the south side of Chicago where he attended Chicago Vocational High School. The same high school that, “The Maestro of Mayhem”, Dick Butkus also attended in his early days. Chris went on to play football at the University of Notre Dame, where he won a National Championship and eventually went on to play for the Chicago Bears for six seasons (1991 – 1997).

In this episode, our hosts, Matt Butkus and Matt Amendola, talk with Chris about the truth behind college athletes going into the transfer portal, Chris’s journey playing football and being recruited by Dick Butkus himself, and Notre Dame’s culture change for football when he was coached by the legend Lou Holtz.

In 1989, Chris won the Lombardi Award as a senior in college. The award is given out to college football players that embody the spirit and values of the NFL’s legendary coach Vince Lombardi. In Chris’s last college game ever, he won Defensive MVP in the Orange Bowl against the University of Colorado.
