ABOUT THE EPISODE

In Episode 19: Casting Out a Nation’s Demons, we talked about our call to cast out corruption and deep-rooted sin in our cities. Several areas should be targeted that will change the worldview of citizens and hence change culture.

Let’s pray that the following areas are grasped and nurtured for the citizens in our towns:

1. Revival of First Love

   1. Love God, love your neighbor.

   2. He first loved us.

   3. Our rights are given by the One who loves us, not by the government.

   4. In His first love He gave us laws to live by for our good.

   5. He created us to grow in understanding and responsibility.

      1. Food, reason, will, self-care

      2. Family, village, state, kingdom

2. Identity

   1. Awakening to jurisdiction of self-government

   2. Taking personal responsibility

   3. Empowerment to be a productive member of society

   4. Internal government – man’s ability to govern his thoughts, attitudes, motives

   5. External government – home, faith community, schools

      1. How these function in a community reflects the population’s level of self-government

1. Education

   1. Ignorance is not bliss. Uneducated people can quickly become enslaved.

   2. Abraham Lincoln, “The philosophy of the schools in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next.”

   3. Biblical worldview – moral and principled education

   4. Correct history, Constitution

2. Moral Compass

   1. Understanding of right from wrong

   2. Loss of Biblical principles and virtues.

   3. People of virtue respect and obey the law.

   4. Lack of character results in immorality, corrupt laws, poor economy,

3. Citizen’s Rights

   1. Ownership of internal property – ideas, thoughts, talents, opinions

   2. Ownership of external property – land, estates, freedom of speech, bodily health, freedom of assembly

   3. No unjust taxation, unemployment

4. Volunteers

   1. People will volunteer freely in the day of Thy power – Ps. 110:3

   2. Community collaboration

   3. Apostles and prophets in the community

5. Unity

   1. Cooperation, not competition

   2. Balanced unity not forced which is Communism.
