S4E4: Racing Technology with Porsche Carrera Cup Driver Matty Graham and Josh Ward of Terminus Technologies
This week we are joined by Matty Graham and Joshua Ward. Matty Graham is a racing driver from North East England. Racing since the age of eight, his formative years in karting marked him out as one of the UK’s top emerging talents. Crowned CIK-FIA Asia Pacific Karting champion in 2010 and Under 18 World Champion in 2011, Matty’s upward trajectory continued as he graduated into full race cars in 2013, as he impressed throughout the inaugural BRDC Formula 4 Championship, winning two races and scoring a further four podium finishes! Matty ended the regular season fourth in the standings, before sealing the series Winter Championship with three wins out of eight races. Joshua Ward is an experienced leader and innovator across a variety of technology industries including Fintech, Motorsport, Cryptocurrency, Construction, Biotech and Media. He is skilled at identifying problems and developing solutions; overseeing from concept to completion and application. His talents also include liaising with business and corporate entities to ensure mutually satisfying and successful outcomes.

S1E10: Dr. Carlotta Berry of the Rose-Hulman Institute Discusses Diversity in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
This week we talk with Dr. Carlotta Berry about increasing diversity in STEM. Dr. Berry co-founded Rose-Hulman’s Building Undergraduate Diversity (RoseBUD) program, which encourages students from underrepresented groups to seek STEM careers; helped student scholars organize an annual SPARK! campus event that brings together high school and college students to work on hands-on projects (this year’s virtual event is scheduled for March 20); and has been co-director of the institute’s multidisciplinary robotics academic program. At Rose-Hulman, Berry has taught courses from mobile robotics to human/robot interaction to electrical engineering design. She has encouraged students to learn by tinkering, hacking, and making mistakes. She has even shipped low-cost kits to students’ homes to facilitate online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It's not easy being Green. Especially in Technology. A technology company has all of the normal environmental concerns as any other office such as using paper, resources like lighting and heating an office space. But tech has more responsibilities. Computers use a lot of power. Data centers full of Servers use a lot of power. They produce a lot of heat that has to be cooled all year round. And computer hardware uses a lot of resources in their production. Parts of computer equipment are made from toxic materials such as lead, mercury, and PCBs. Those need to be responsibly sourced and disposed of properly. Green IT is a complicated ball of string to unravel.
