EPISODE-UNRAVELING In this episode we’re going to take brokenness, unraveling and cracking in our lives and re-frame them as possible gifts. I know, hard to swallow the “lemons into lemonade” perspective in the midst of some awful stuff that can happen in our lives, but hang with us. We’re not going to make everything rainbows and unicorns. However, our attitudes have a big impact on how circumstances play out in our lives. Perhaps the Spirit has been nudging and calling us to embrace a new imagination, but the other one had to unravel for us to see it for what it was. In this sense maybe the malaise of our lives has been the work of God. A life that has been humbled by disruption and decline may be a less arrogant and presumptuous. We may have fewer illusions about our own power and centrality. We may become curious. We may be less willing to ally with the empires and powers that have long defined us. We may finally admit how much we need the true power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit. That’s a life God can work with.
