43. Hit songwriter Aimee Mayo on her new book "Talking to the Sky"
Aimee Mayo has written some of the biggest songs in country music: Lonestar's "Amazed", Tim McGraw's "My Best Friend", Tim and Faith's duet "Let's Make Love", and other top songs from artists like Kenny Chesney, Sara Evans, and Martina McBride. She recently released her memoir "Talking to the Sky", which is accurately described as "A memoir about living your best life in a shit-show. Ultimately a story of faith over fear and survival of a dream." The new book explores the in-depth relationships between artists and producers while revealing the compelling stories behind some of the biggest hits to come out of Music City. We talk with Jake about his background, growing up with a passion for music, and how that turned into writing books about music. 27. Danny McMahon
Danny McMahon has had himself a heck of a year. The artist has quickly become one of the faces of UK Country Music. He recently took home awards at the UK Country Awards for Male Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for "When I See You," and Artist of the Year. He's up for 3 more awards at the British Country Music Awards (BCMA's) which will take place on November 9th. Danny is in Nashville for a couple weeks and sat down with us to chat about the rollercoaster ride he's been on the last few years. We talk about the differences between UK Country Music and country music here in the states as well as the artists that influenced him to want to make country music for a living. Danny also takes us inside his songwriting process, specifically how important songwriting truly has become for him. This was a really fun one to record.
