Offering Connection and Healing to Grieving Children
Play • 36 min

In episode 10, we spent time with two inspiring leaders who have dedicated their lives to childhood bereavement for community members in Colorado and beyond.

Dr. Brook Griese, Co-Founder and recently appointed Board Member, founded Judi’s House in 2002. Judi’s House is a national-leading free-standing organization devoted solely to providing research-based care to grieving children and their families.

For over 15 years, Judi’s House has supported nearly 10,000 youth and caregivers, by being focused on a vision that no child should be alone in grief.

Recently, Brook and the Judi’s House Board of Directors appointed Jessica Matlind Mayo as their new CEO.

During our time tougher, Brook shared her very personal family story of how her husband experienced childhood bereavement, her professional background that prepared her for her mission in life and how Judi’s House came to be.

Additionally, Jessica described how Judi’s House provided loving and life-changing care to her family during unspeakable tragedy and how this experience has perfectly positioned her to lead Judi’s House today and into the future.

And, because of the generosity of their donors, there is no cost to families receiving care and services from the Judi’s House staff.

It is my hope you will consider donating to Judi’s House and share with your networks the humbling work this inspiring organization is delivering to the many in need.
