051: Let the Devil Wing Us Home (VOY "Scorpion: Part 1")
Play • 1 hr 5 min

"Now hear this. Now hear this. On this week's episode of Kirking Off we jump on board the Voyager as Janeway and her crew contest with multiple Borg ships, Species 8472, and an ethical dilemma that asks, "Would you could give your implacable enemy - the Borg - who is bent on conquering the galaxy the ability to battle what seems to be the only species that can stop them, for an increased chance to get home?" Has anyone called Species 8472 to make a deal with them? Are we certain that Species 8472 is "bad" as we've come to know the Borg? And isn't it reasonable to conclude that if you board an alien vessel with brandished phaser rifles that they may defend themselves as you've offered no communication? Special guest this week, Leonardo da Gimli a romantic and poetic inventor and artist. Prompting question: Do the writer's have anything for Chakotay besides reminding us (through silly characterizations) that he has Native American heritage? We present to you, "Scorpion: Part 1", from Star Trek: Voyager."
