Associate Professor of Management and Organization & McAlister Associate Professor in Business Administration, much of Cheryl Wakslak’s recent research looks at communication, exploring when people use more “big-picture” abstract language versus more specific language, and how this influences the way they are perceived by others.

Her research reveals the dysfunctional behaviors and physiological costs that can result when individuals’ cultural norms collide with the dominant cultural norms of organizations.
