Black History Month

February is the month that we celebrate Black History.  We here at the Air Force Aid Society wanted to observe it in a new way with our Airmen Helping Airmen podcast. In this episode, you’ll hear from Lt Gen John D. Hopper, Jr USAF (Ret), Major General Alfred K. Flowers, USAF (Ret), Maj. Gen. Mark A. Brown USAF (Ret) , and CMSgt Dennis Fritz, USAF (Ret). They are just a few African-American Airmen who made a large impact on the lives of many.

If you are new to the Airmen Helping Airmen series, we break down the who, what, and why of the Air Force Aid Society (AFAS).

#AFAS is an official charity of the United States Air Force and operates as a nonprofit organization.

Through its three programs they support the Air Force mission by providing worldwide emergency assistance to Air Force and Space Force members and their families, offering college educational assistance, as well as on-base community enhancement programs.

#AFAS operates worldwide at every major USAF and USSF installations. The Society’s programs to provide no-interest loans and grants are administered, in part, by the Airman and Family Readiness Centers located at those bases.

We are grateful for your continued partnership in support of our Airmen.
