Take a breather in the middle of your day. Spend time with God and put the troubles of your day in perspective.
Midday Prayer:
God, come to my assistance.
— Lord, make haste to help me.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
— as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen. Alleluia.
Matthew 6: 27-34
“Which of you by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan?
Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin,
yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these.
But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith?
“Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’
For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.

The Jesus Prayer
“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner”.
Taken from the parable of the Pharisee and the Publican in Luke 18:9-14, this prayer has been said for centuries in the Orthodox tradition.
This can be said on a prayer rope, prayer beads, or simply just listen and pray with us as we meditate upon these words. We recite it 100 times to allow time for the words to soak into your soul.
In the Catholic tradition, the Catechism of the Catholic Church says that the name of Jesus is the only name that “contains the presence it signifies" (CCC 2666). Think about that one for a minute.
For a wonderful book on this prayer, look up “The Way of a Pilgrim”.
