Midweek Podcast: King Me! (1 Samuel)
Nothing was more exhilarating to say but deflating to hear than the phrase “King me!” when playing checkers as a child. Saying the words gave me a sense of accomplishment and hope even if down several pieces, and nothing caused more apprehension than my opponent saying the words, “King Me!” feeling like they had gained the upper hand. The exact words brought a sense of victory and defeat. Turning our attention to 1 Samuel, we won’t see this same phrase on any of its pages, but we do notice the nation of Israel express their desire for God to king them by granting them a king to rule over them like the surrounding nations. This week's episode will challenge us to live by the motto, "King Him!" instead of "King me!" and why it benefits us to do so!

How God reveals Jesus to others through His people.
Christmas day has come and gone. Your Christmas decor may or may not be packed up. Our focus is no longer on the birth of the world's Savior but the world's new year and what it may hold. We linger in John's Gospel so that we might not rush from the season for which Christ is the reason without contemplating what His birth means for the upcoming year. This week's sermon shows us that God revealed Jesus as the coming Messiah through one man's obedience to His revealed will. The truth is, God wants to reveal Jesus to others through us as well, this week we see what we need to do if we want God to reveal Jesus to others through us like He did through John the Baptist.
