Calming Driving Nerves - 8 minute relaxation exercise - DO NOT LISTEN WHILE DRIVING!
Play • 11 min

Next week is Mental Health Awareness Week (9-15 May 22) and so we thought we would share one of our relaxation exercises to help support anyone who is feeling overwhelmed by their thoughts.

Please do not listen to this exercise while driving!

This exercise helps you visualise putting your thoughts on leaves on a stream and allowing them to float away.  While the exercise is not related to driving, it may be helpful to allow you to reset or relax before driving, helping you to feel calmer and more in control, ready to give your attention to your driving instead of your thoughts.

The Mental Health Foundation has a range of resources available to help you look after your mental health which you can find on this link:

Would you like to feature in a future Q&A podcast?  You can record a question about driving nerves or confidence that you would like us to answer on our Speak Pipe page.  If you have a question, then there are likely to be others with the same or similar question so ask away and let's start helping more people to build their driving confidence!
