Ep 6. Understanding the importance of self-care when designing and building a life as a pro athlete with Chuck Thuss.
Today’s guest is former professional hockey goaltender and international hockey coach, Chuck Thuss. Chuck is a certified Life coach, Relationship and Spiritual Coach and professional speaker.
Chuck played eight years as a professional hockey goaltender in the old International Hockey League, American Hockey League, and the East Coast Hockey League. During his time as a professional hockey goaltender, Chuck received several league (CCHA) and team awards including Goalie Of The Year, CCHA All-League, Miami University Athlete Of The Year, team most valuable player as well as being named 1st Team All American. Chuck was also the recipient of the Terry Flanagan Award honoring a player for perseverance, dedication, and courage while overcoming severe adversity.
Chuck has coached on the international hockey stage, serving as the head coach and co-head coach for Team USA at The World Championships of Inline Hockey and The World Games. During his time coaching on the international hockey stage, Chuck helped guide Team USA to five gold medal victories as well as a bronze medal. He was also awarded the United States Olympic Committee Volunteer Coach Of The Year award in 2011. Chuck also spent two years as an assistant coach for the ECHL’s Mississippi SeaWolves
