CCC Sermons | 10.18.20 | "The Great Intercessor"
*Dr. Daniel Snape teaches from Exodus 33:12-23. * Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name and you have found favor with me.’ *13 *If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.” *14 *The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” *15 *Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. *16 *How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?” *17 *And the Lord said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.” *18 *Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.” *19 *And the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. *20 *But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.” *21 *Then the Lord said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. *22 *When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. *23 *Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen.”

CCC Sermons |10.11.20 | "Prayer Changes Things"
*Dr. Daniel Snape teaches from Isaiah 38:1-8.* In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, “This is what the Lord says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.” 2 Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, 3 “Remember, Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly. 4 Then the word of the Lord came to Isaiah: 5 “Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life. 6 And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city. 7 “‘This is the Lord’s sign to you that the Lord will do what he has promised: 8 I will make the shadow cast by the sun go back the ten steps it has gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.’” So the sunlight went back the ten steps it had gone down.

CCC Sermons | 10.4.20 | "Our Way, Your Way"
*Dr. Daniel Snape teaches from Titus 3:3-11.* At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. *4 *But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, *5 *he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, *6 *whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, *7 *so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. *8 *This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone. *9 *But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. *10 *Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them. *11 *You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned.
