CCC Sermons | 8.23.20 | "Renewing The Mind"
*Pastor Dr. Daniel Snape teaches from Romans 12:1-2.* Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. *2 *Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

CCC Sermons | 8.9.20 | "The Gentle Whisper"
*Pastor Dr. Daniel Snape teaches from 1 Kings 19:9b-18.* And the word of the Lord came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?” *10 *He replied, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.” *11 *The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. *12 *After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. *13 *When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” *14 *He replied, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.” *15 *The Lord said to him, “Go back the way you came, and go to the Desert of Damascus. When you get there, anoint Hazael king over Aram. *16 *Also, anoint Jehu son of Nimshi king over Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from Abel Meholah to succeed you as prophet. *17 *Jehu will put to death any who escape the sword of Hazael, and Elisha will put to death any who escape the sword of Jehu. *18 *Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel—all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him.”

CCC Sermons | 8.2.20 | "Walk This Way, Talk This Way"
*Pastor Dr. Daniel Snape teaches from Ephesians 4:25-5:2.* Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. *26 *“In your anger do not sin”[a]: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, *27 *and do not give the devil a foothold. *28 *Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need. *29 *Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. *30 *And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. *31 *Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. *32 *Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. *5 1 *Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children *2 *and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

CCC Sermons | 7.19.20 | "Rebuild My House" Sermon Series, Part 4
*Pastor Dr. Daniel Snape continues his sermon series, "Rebuild My House", teaching from Haggai 2:10-19.* On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to the prophet Haggai: *11 *“This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Ask the priests what the law says: *12 *If someone carries consecrated meat in the fold of their garment, and that fold touches some bread or stew, some wine, olive oil or other food, does it become consecrated?’” The priests answered, “No.” *13 *Then Haggai said, “If a person defiled by contact with a dead body touches one of these things, does it become defiled?” “Yes,” the priests replied, “it becomes defiled.” *14 *Then Haggai said, “‘So it is with this people and this nation in my sight,’ declares the Lord. ‘Whatever they do and whatever they offer there is defiled. *15 *“‘Now give careful thought to this from this day on[a]—consider how things were before one stone was laid on another in the Lord’s temple. *16 *When anyone came to a heap of twenty measures, there were only ten. When anyone went to a wine vat to draw fifty measures, there were only twenty. *17 *I struck all the work of your hands with blight, mildew and hail, yet you did not return to me,’ declares the Lord. *18 *‘From this day on, from this twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, give careful thought to the day when the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid. Give careful thought: *19 *Is there yet any seed left in the barn? Until now, the vine and the fig tree, the pomegranate and the olive tree have not borne fruit.
