CCC Sermons |10.11.20 | "Prayer Changes Things"
*Dr. Daniel Snape teaches from Isaiah 38:1-8.* In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, “This is what the Lord says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.” 2 Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, 3 “Remember, Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly. 4 Then the word of the Lord came to Isaiah: 5 “Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life. 6 And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city. 7 “‘This is the Lord’s sign to you that the Lord will do what he has promised: 8 I will make the shadow cast by the sun go back the ten steps it has gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.’” So the sunlight went back the ten steps it had gone down.

CCC Sermons | 10.4.20 | "Our Way, Your Way"
*Dr. Daniel Snape teaches from Titus 3:3-11.* At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. *4 *But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, *5 *he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, *6 *whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, *7 *so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. *8 *This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone. *9 *But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. *10 *Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them. *11 *You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned.

CCC Sermons | 9.27.20 | "Be Strong! Be Courageous!"
*Pastor Dr. Daniel Snape teaches from Joshua 1:1-9.* After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide: *2 *“Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites. *3 *I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. *4 *Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. *5 *No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. *6 *Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. *7 *“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. *8 *Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. *9 *Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
