Legally Africa presents: Welcome To My House, Ep 6. Yasmine Kabongo takes us on her career & life journey from the DRC to South Africa to Canada
Play • 57 min

We were delighted to be joined by Yasmine Kabongo, who is currently Regional Associate Counsel for the EMEA region at Boart Longyear

On our quest to meet the young, African lawyers that are driving the industry forward on a global basis, Yasmine is an exceptional voice for young African professionals to listen to.

Her journey is an exceptional one and is a path that many young lawyers on our continent wish to emulate. Born in the DRC, she and her family made their way to SA, where she schooled, dug deep, and was determined and now she has taken her family to Canada to continue her career and family life.

In her LinkedIn profile, she says " A great in-house counsel must have great managerial skill and my role as an associate regional counsel has proven that to be true. I am currently the associate regional counsel (EMEA) for Boart Longyear. Despite the fact that I am now based in North America, my ambitions are still driven by my love for legal growth and expansion in Africa. Apart from the LLB degree, I hold a certificate in Women Entrepreneurship and I have the intention to pursue further in the direction. My biggest accomplishment is my family. "
