This guy is just amazing ! Only 19 years old he writes all his own music, produces it and releases it on his own label too!
He tells me how he started out, the advantages that come with running your own label, and he has some excellent advice for people starting out the music world.

A lovely chat with the one and only Engelbert Humperdinck MBE over Zoom about his brilliant new album 'All About Love' and his amazing career.
Obviously I just had to ask him how his name was created, he corrects me about the release date of his first hit single 'Release Me' and we chat about keeping fit, his tour this year, what he's doing next year, Nashville and much more!

Australian Ziggy Alberts is a very talented singer songwriter with his 5th album 'Dancing in The Dark' out, and a single from it 'I'm Sorry' which I play a bit of during the interview. Does he remind you of someone?? He tells me why he wrote the song.

It was a pleasure to talk to the CEO of The London Music Fund Chrissy Kinsella.
She explains to me why music for children especially is so important, and all about the work The London Music Fund does. She's a busy lady!
I discover there are some famous supporters of the organisation, including Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman.
Chrissy has some great advice for parents and guardians, and how to benefit from the fund, and I discover her talent for the Violin and Ukulele!

I find out about how he got his first guitar and what followed, and discover his influencers and heros including Marvin Gaye and Jimmy Hendrix.

I ask him if he will be going back to Vegas for another residency, what it's like to record for the new album at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London, with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and The MG Big Band too - Amazing!

The amazing Dave Black AKA Elvis is an awesome Elvis Presley tribute act who has just released a brilliant party dance version of Suspicious Minds. ( There's a brief snippet in the interview)
He has shot to stardom being on the front page of newspapers, featured in a BBC documentary and was interviewed and performed on ITV's 'Good Morning' with Holly and Phil.
He tells me what that was like and we talk about publicity photos, gigs, costumes and much more. By the way he is a very nice chap too!

Episode 52 - Rick Buckler - The Jam
Rick set up The Jam with Paul Weller in 1972 while they were still at school and was their drummer. He tells me about some of the history of The Jam, how it all ended in 1982, and much more.
Remember their hits - Eton Rifles, When You're Young, A Town Called Malice, Absolute Beginners and That's Entertainment to name a few.
Rick has some fantastic stories from the band's time, how Decca Records rejected them, how music technology has changed, and I ask him of his opinion of Paul Weller. He has some great advice to people starting out in the music business too.
His new book 'The Jam 1982' has loads of 'not seen before' backstage photos of the band and their gigs. A fascinating read and surely a music lover's collectors item!

Episode 50 - Chris Norman - of 'Smokie' fame
Chris is a musical inspiration !
In Smokie ( listen to why the spelling was changed from Smokey!) they had massive hits you will remember such as "Living Next Door to Alice', 'I'll meeet you at Midnight', 'Lay Back in the Arms of Someone', 'Midnight Lady' and many more!
Since leaving Smokie for his hugely successful solo career in 1986 he has released over 20 albums and continues to tour all over the world to this day.
He tells me how the band Smokie was born, about touring basically his whole life, and about being on Top of The Pops over 40 times!
We ended up chatting about how technology has changed over the years in the music and radio production industry! Turns out we're from the same era!
His latest album 'Rediscovered Love Songs' is out and he tells me how this one was conceived, his single from it is 'Always on My Mind' which is brilliant.

Episode 49 - Stuart Brayson - Composer of amazing musicals & more
Stuart Brayson is a prolific and versatile British writer/composer. He is a self taught multi instrumentalist and studied dramatic art as an actor in Newcastle and London. Stuart also writes film screenplays and stage plays.
Stuart has written over 27 musicals, music and lyrics, ranging from the epic Mata! about the life of Mata Hari to most recently Pink Angora Sweater, a New Musical comedy about the life of cross dressing film maker Ed Wood which is currently being prepared for Broadway.
Stuart's latest production is ' From Here to Eternity' with lyrics by Sir Tim Rice and this revamped version is on at The Charing Cross Theatre in London until December 17th 2022. The production has received rave reviews.
I talk to him about how he got into writing musicals and his career, what he has planned for the future with or without Tim Rice and what advice he can give to others trying to write successfully in the music business.

Episode 10 - Cousins Gibb, Bee Gee Son
In this episode of Music Stories I talk to Nick Endacott-Gibb in England and Debora Mclane in Australia - at the same time!
Although accomplished musicians in their own right they have recently got together as it's been discovered they are both related to the Gibb family ( Bee Gees).
I discover that Nick is actually the son of Maurice Gibb, which he found out sadly after Maurice's death, and was adopted as a child. This goes someway to explain his musical talents.
