UNSOLVED: Robert Wone
In 2006, Robert Wone was crashing at the home of some friends in Washington DC after a legal seminar. About an hour after his arrival to the home of Joseph Price, Victor Zaborsky and Dylan Ward, a 911 call was placed from the house, where the operated was told that Wone had been attacked by an intruder. Theories about his death circulated for years until an affidavit was released stating exactly what went down at the DuPont Circle home that August, and allowing for officers to arrest the housemates on charges of obstruction. Erika walks us through the night of the crime from the POV of each person involved, more details from the affidavit, and what followed the arrest of the men. To this day, Robert and his loved ones still have not received justice. We hope to see this case solved soon.

SERIAL KILLER: The Eyeball Killer - Charles Albright
In honor of it almost being spooky season. Today we are going to look into the crimes of a man who's fascination with eyeballs started as young as age 11 when his mother caught him killing animals so she put him into taxidermy classes. Charles Albright had everyone fooled with his charisma, talents, and over overachieving personality. UNSOLVED: Rebecca Zahau
In July of 2011, Rebecca Zahau was found nude, bound, and hanging from the second-story balcony of her boyfriend, Jonah Shacknai’s California mansion. The same mansion where Shackni’s six-year-old son, Max, was found by Zahau at the end of the stairs just two days before Rebecca’s death. He died just a few days later, his death being ruled accidental. Zahau’s death was ultimately ruled a suicide. But those close to Rebecca didn’t buy it - other than it being out of character, she was tied up, and a cryptic message was left at the scene of her death. Rebecca’s family has been fighting for over ten years to bring her justice.

SERIAL KILLER: Luis Alfredo Garavito
In this week’s episode, Erika walks us through the childhood and reign of terror of one of Colombia’s most notorious serial killers - and maybe one of the worst of all time - Luis Garavito. Luis traveled across different cities in Colombia, murdering what is now believed to be almost 400 children in the 90s. In 1990, Jennifer Schuett was abducted from her bedroom and dragged to a field, left for dead with her throat slashed. She was told she would never be able to speak again, but she was the only witness to her attempted murder - and she was determined to get the justice she deserved. It wouldn’t be until 2009 when the FBI, and Dickinson Police Department, with the help of Jennifer, finally solve the horrifying crime.

SOLVED: The Murder of Christine Jessop
In the fall of 1984, Christine Jessop was abducted from her home in Queensville, Ontario. It would be months before police would have a suspect, or any break in the case. Then, her body was found in Sunderland on New Years Eve. Police think they have the man who committed the heinous crime, until DNA evidence exonerates him in 1995. The case would go cold yet again, until just a couple years ago.

NOT GUILTY: Lizzie Borden
We're taking a trip back to the 1800's to cover one of the most famous cases in history. Andrew and Abby Borden were found murdered in their home by their youngest daughter, Lizzie Borden. MURDERED: Kitty Genovese
Kitty Genovese was only 28 years old when she was brutally murdered right outside the front door of her apartment building on her and her girlfriend's one year dating anniversary. News articles immediately reported that 38 people witnessed this heinous crime and did not call the police. This led to a psychological phenomenon known as the Bystander Effect. She was graduating with her masters, finishing up an internship with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and hoping to begin a career with the FBI. When no one hears from Chandra for almost a week, secrets become exposed as the public soon learns of Chandra’s relationship with a married congressman. All eyes are on Gary Condit as he denies allegations of an affair and any involvement in Chandra’s disappearance. SERIAL KILLER: The I-5 Killer - Randall Woodfield
Randall Woodfield seemed to have it all growing up. On the outside he was a star athlete that ended up being drafted to the Green Bay Packers following his college career. On the inside he was a sexual exhibitionist who had a history of indecent exposure and crimes that were swept under the rug for years. It wasn't until he was dropped from the NFL that his crimes escalated to full blown murder. He drove all around Interstate 5 murdering and sexually assaulting victims. It was said that he could have murdered around 44 people and committed hundreds of other crimes. He was sentenced to life in prison plus 157 years. UNSOLVED: Bryce Laspisa
Bryce Laspisa was getting ready to start his sophomore year at Sierra College when his best friend and girlfriend noticed he began acting erratic. Bryce was abusing drugs and alcohol, and even giving away his belongings. He was supposedly driving home in August of 2013 when he began acting very strange and was never heard from again. Officers discovered his vehicle, but Bryce Laspisa has never been found.

SERIAL KILLER: Rodney Alcala AKA The Dating Game Killer
In the 1970’s, Rodney Alcala was bachelor #1 on the hit reality game show “The Dating Game” and was charming enough to win a date with the bachelorette. But what no one knew at the time was that while Alcala was winning a game show, writing for the LA Times and taking an interest in photography, he was also brutally raping and strangling young girls and women in California, New York, and other states across the US. Alcala used his charm and photography skills to manipulate young girls and boys into putting themselves into dangerous situations. Some of his crimes weren’t solved until 2016, and although he was convicted of murdering five people (including one twelve year old girl) it is believed he killed over 130 victims. Well, he has sparked the interest in the cold case of The Lady of the Dunes with a theory that she could have been an extra during the filming of the movie. She met her untimely and horribly gruesome death just 100 miles from Martha's Vineyard. SOLVED: The Murder of Angela Samota
On November 12th, 1984, 20-year-old Southern Methodist University student Angela Samota spent the night out with friends before visiting her boyfriend, Ben McCall, and returning home. Angela called Ben to let him know there was a man in her house who needed to use the bathroom and her phone. That was the last time anyone would ever hear from Angela. Worried, Ben drove to her house and called police, only for them to discover Angela had been raped and stabbed 19 times. With very little evidence and one main suspect they were unable to connect, police would let the case go cold until Angela’s college roommate ,Sheila Wysocki, decided to take matters into her own hands. Sameena Imam was gingerly headed into the Christmas holiday with the promise of love. Her boyfriend, Roger Cooper was dating 3 women but told Sameena he would be only hers after she presented him with an ultimatum. When they were on their way to David Cooper's home (Roger's brother) for a quick stop on their road trip to celebrate the holiday as a couple, she was killed by the brothers. DISAPPEARED: Terrance Williams & Felipe Santos
Florida men Terrance Williams and Felipe Santos went missing within three months of each other in 2003/2004 and to this day their disappearances are still unsolved, without a trace of evidence. The two men did have one thing in common: the last person to see both of them alive was one Steve Calkins, a deputy at the Collier County Sheriff’s Office in East Naples. To this day, Calkins maintains his innocence and the families of both men are still looking for answers. Daniel Rolling grew up in a traumatic household that left him with a world of resentment and anger. Soon after his wife divorced him, he lost his job at a local restaurant and that same night the murdering began. He would go on to murder a total of 8 people, his most notorious spree being at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Erika shares the first true crime case she remembers, the unsolved disappearance of Natalee Holloway. In 2005, Natalee had just graduated high school and had a bright future ahead of her. She went on a trip to Aruba with her classmates and didn’t show up for the flight back to Alabama. The case became a media frenzy as the Holloway family and Aruban police are at odds, leaving mother Beth Twitty and father Dave Holloway to take matters into their own hands. Beth was certain the three boys last seen with Natalee knew what happened to her daughter, but over 15 years later no one has any knowledge of what happened to her. Except perhaps Joran Van Zandt.

MURDERED: Matthew Shepard & James Byrd Jr.
For our second pride month episode, Erika wanted to touch on two cases from 1998 that expanded hate crime laws to further protect people of any race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, gender identity, or disability. Matthew Shepard was a 21-year-old student at The University of Wyoming who was beaten and left to die by two men pretending to be gay. In the same year, 49-year-old James Byrd Jr. suffered a brutal, unfathomable death at the hands of two members of the KKK and an accomplice. After many years, the stories of these two men helped to create The Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act.
