Get ready for the return of Wasaga Under Siege the War of 1812 with this year’s theme “Ships and Sails” on Saturday, August 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. held at Nancy Island Historic Site. Beach BOOSTER Media Group is delighted to be one of the sponsors of this great family event again this year.
This year the event is only one day due to the tall ships and re-enactments occurring in Penetanguishene the previous weekend.
Originally created fifteen-years ago by event founder and organizer Dave Brunelle, Wasaga Under Siege is now under the guidance of Friends of Nancy Island and Wasaga Beach Park.
With its nautical theme of “Ships and Sails” you can anticipate model ship exhibition from Toronto, naval and voyageur re-enactors and of course cannon and musket demonstrations. Admission is $2 per person and free for children 12 and under.
Visit wasagabeachpark.com for all the details.
Joining Dianna for this week's show is president of Nancy Island Historic Site and Wasaga Beach Park, Rob Potter. Rob shares info about the upcoming event.
