Late night drinks don't always give rise to a successful business venture but in the case of Minibar Delivery, that's exactly how the business was born.
While at the Wharton School getting an MBA, Lindsey Andrews and Lara Crystal were doing "takeout Tuesday night" and thought wine would pair nicely. But there must be an easier way than trekking out of the apartment in search of the closest wine store.
The two friends became business partners, and in turn partnered with local stores to provide consumers the ability to shop for wine, liquor, and beer, from a smart phone, and have it delivered to the doorstep. As mom-and-pop stores were the suppliers so Minibar Delivery was also supporting small business.

Being the parent, the standard answer was "Because I said so." More out of frustration than anything else.
I grew up to become a journalist and continued to ask "Why?"

Curiosity drives me as a leader.
When our curiosity is triggered, we think more deeply and rationally about decisions and come up with more-creative solutions. Curiosity allows leaders to gain more respect from their followers. I get this question often. For the first 15 years of my adult life, being a journalist was all I wanted. I got of bed somewhere between 2:30am and 3:45 am everyday to do morning TV. I had a fire in my belly for it. Passion.

The power of the subconscious mind.
*The 90/10% Rule*
The subconscious mind is like the court stenographer. Its recording every trauma that has happened to us. Maybe it was the first time we got fired. Every bad thing that someone has said to us. That time that someone called us fat.
Left unchecked, all of that ’stuff’ and scripts in our subconscious is operating on autopilot.

I’m not worthy
I can never do that.
When you say I want to lose weight. You are harnessing willpower. Willpower is about 5-10%.
You can see why its a losing battle.

*#1 WATCH THE SELF TALK. RECORD IT. SAY THE OPPOSITE*

The differences between an open mindset and a closed mindset.
It is absolutely imperative to strong and progressive leadership to understand the difference between open mindsets and fixed mindsets.
The most successful leaders are focused on growing their skills, their approaches to business and problem solving, and their teams. This growth mindset is based on the belief that the basic qualities that we have can continuously be cultivated to move us forward and add to our bank of skills.
I've gained entry into a mastermind. While 50% will be dedicated to business strategy. The other 50% is dedicated to mindset because *we know* that it can upend the best of strategies. Right now I am grappling with the decision: Do I take the first retreat virtually or do I go to Atlanta in person. I know that I will glean more relationship wise by going in person. But I have what I would consider a growth mindset.
