John Register is a two-time Paralympian, Army veteran, author, and lifelong athlete. He qualified for the Olympic Trials twice in track and field and seemed destined to compete on the 1996 Olympic Team.... that is until one misstep over the hurdle changed his life forever.
Today on SPORTS + LIFE + BALANCE, John shares his story of how he used athletics to overcome one of the greatest challenges in life, earn a Paralympic silver medal, AND set the American long jump record with a distance of 5.41 meters (17.8feet).
