Cults are built on logical, semi-believable premises that often involve religion and the leader as the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. It is these messages that draw hundreds of people in, causing them to commit horrific acts on others and on themselves.
But Heaven’s Gate is a bit different.
Since its creation in the mid-1970s, this cult has continually baffled experts and researchers because of its disturbing core beliefs.
Because Heaven’s Gate believed that our purpose here on Earth was to ascend to a utopia located in outer space.
