Sharyn Doolan has many years’ experience as a radio announcer and professional voice over artist.   She is also the founder of an early stage tech startup called Zijit which she describes as 'Shazam' for Creatives.  In this episode, Sharyn and Nicola talk about the challenges in the creative industry and how Sharyn is overcoming them with Zijit.

You may not know Sharyn's name but you are extremely likely to have heard her voice on the "Australian Government Canberra" ads about COVID.

We talk about Sharyn's 18 year radio career which started in the 1980s and her voiceover career which began in 2001. We talk about the problems within the creative industries and how Zijit will solve them. She describes Zijit as the love child of Shazam and IMDb for the creative industry!

Sharyn is a previous cohort of the River City Labs Activate program. She talks about the fast pace involved and the fabulous advice she received from the mentors. Her main challenges have been finding the right tech when you are not a tech person as well as the vicious circle of securing investment.
