A sermon from Luke 7:36-50. The first few minutes of this sermon were not recorded. The recording begins right after discussing the original meaning of the Koine Greek word "hamartia" which is translated as sin and from which we get "hamartolos" which is translated "sinner" in this text. Hamartia is an archery term which means "to miss the mark." Sin is to miss the mark established by God. The theme of the sermon is that Jesus is a friend to sinners, to all of us who miss the mark.
