For the first episode of Beautiful Grief, I’m interviewing Julia Samuel who is a psychotherapist and bereavement specialist and has spent 30 years working with bereaved families. In 2015, Julia was awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours list for services to bereaved children MBE. Julia is also the Author of Grief Works, which is also a podcast, and has just recently released another book, This Too Shall Pass.
Julia has been referred to as a ‘visionary grief counselor’ and has truly made a beautiful impact on the world when it comes to understanding grief. She has helped many many families manage and process their grief through the unthinkable of circumstances.
Finding Julia’s podcast, Grief Works in the early days of grief was an absolute life saver. It therefore made complete sense to share her wisdom and knowledge on grief, and her beautiful, kind nature with you, in the hope it can help you as much as it did me.
In this episode, we talk openly about experiencing Grief as New Mother, why feeling pain is such a necessary part of the healing process, how grief can change relationship, and much more.
